David Carpenter

David Carpenter has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Mission since January of 2008.  Carpenter comes to the Mission board from the financial world.  He currently serves as Vice President, Investment Analyst with the Capital Group Companies, a privately-held investment company based in Los Angeles.  Capital is the largest mutual fund manager in the world, managing more than $1.5 trillion in assets.  He is also a Director on the Board of Directors of Capital Research Company.
 
Carpenter earned his B.A. in Economics at the College of William and Mary, and his M. B. A. in Finance at the Anderson School of Business at UCLA. 
 
Carpenter has been a supporter of the Los Angeles Mission for years, and is an active member of American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach.
 
He is married and the father of young twin sons.
