Father’s Day
At the Los Angeles Mission we encourage our students to begin or continue the process of reconciliation with their family members. As with Mother’s Day, Father’s Day is a special time for our students to honor their father or father figure by inviting them to a special BBQ lunch with games and prizes. In 2011 we had approximately 100 fathers and father figures to join us for our annual BBQ. A special gift was awarded to the oldest father, youngest father, and father who traveled the farthest to attend this special occasion. Volunteers who have helped with this event in the past really enjoyed their time and we would like to open the invitation to anyone else who is interested in lending their time. Although Father’s Day is sometime away, (Saturday, June 16th) there are many ways you can contribute to the lives of our students. Please contact the Mission to see what you can do to make a difference!
