{ Vocational Training/Services }

All UTI students are assigned work therapy responsibilities throughout the Mission. Supervisors plan tasks and training for each student working intentionally with them to help with skill building. Students receive evaluations and upon completion of a term of service, certificates are awarded.

Students learn job specific skills along with how to work with different people, regular attendance and minimum job performance expectations.
As part of this experience students may be introduced to vocations that they wish to persue beyond the program through apprenticeship or our Work Start program.

Qualified, Skilled Applicants

All applicants referred by the Los Angeles Mission's UTI Career Development Department have completed hundreds of hours of hands-on vocational training to sharpen their skills and refine their employment direction. All graduates have been enrolled in the Urban Training Institute and have pursued studies in the Mission's Henry Salvatori Education Center or the Richard Riordan Education Center. Transcripts of all UTI courses are available.
UTI students prepare for employment by attending Job Readiness Seminars, learning valuable job search techniques, and utilizing our Resource Center to conduct their own job search.
Commitment To Excellence

The Urban Training Institute's Career Development Department is committed to providing you with quality recruitment assistance. It is our commitment to refer candidates with a positive, conscientious attitude and a strong work ethic.
Our graduates have demonstrated a commitment to making their futures something to embrace. They have worked hard to improve their skills, to build their character and to successfully take on new challenges. They are prepared to demonstrate their abilities and to make a contribution to the success of your company or organization. We thank God for you giving us a chance to serve.
Community Enhancement

When one of our UTI graduates enters the workforce and leaves the ranks of the unemployed, we thank God. A significant impact is made in our local communities and in the graduate's life.
By being a part of the workforce, our graduates become productive members of society. They become role models for their family, neighbors, and community.
