Big Sunday

Big Sunday which happened May 3rd which was actually a Saturday was in a word incredible. People all over Los Angeles came together to cleanup, paint and beautify the city. It was an incredible display of volunteerism as 50 people swarmed the Los Angeles Mission working with precision and incredible vigor. The pictures you are about to see only begin to encapsulate what happened on this day. The enthusiasm and selflessness displayed was like almost nothing I have ever seen. The project headed by Shirley Stamen, Joni Steier and Ivan Klassen was truly a remarkable feat that could not have been accomplished without all these volunteers help. The project spanned the 156 000 square foot mission with two rooftop gardens as well as two entrance gardens on both the men’s and women’s sides.
